"Broadway Here We Come"
Acting
This class will introduce age appropriate theatre games, exercises, and practices to enhance stage presence and build self confidence in the young performer. We will also work on voice, ,physicality, and understanding scene work, providing students with an acting tool box, allowing them to discover what method works best for them. Students will learn to make bold acting choices as they use their imagination,and personal experience, experiment with physicality, and explore multiple characters. Each student will memorize and work on a monologue and a scene from a musical or play.
This class is appropriate for the beginner, as well as veteran students,
as exercises can be tailored for individual needs and abilities.
By encouraging students to be mindful of their movement and voices, this class encourages focus, concentration, and patience while having fun!
The six weeks will culminate with an open class in which family and friends can watch the students work.
"Theater Technique"
Acting
Ages 12-18
This class will use time-tested exercises, practices, and theater games to enhance stage presences, and build self confidence in the teen performer.
We will work on voice, physicality, and understanding scene work, providing students with an acting tool box, allowing them to discover what method works best for them. Students will learn to make bold acting choices, as they use their imagination, and personal experience, experiment with physicality,
and explore multiple characters. Each student will memorize and work on a monologue and a scene from a musical.
This class is appropriate for the beginner, as well as veteran students,
as exercises can be tailored for individual needs and abilities.
By encouraging students to be mindful and specific with their bodies and voices, this class encourages focus, concentration, and patience while having fun, and emphasizes the importance of ensemble.
The six weeks will culminate with an open class in which family and friends can watch the students work.
