Amelia Huckel-Bauer

Acting

Amelia Huckel-Baur is a New York City based actor and teaching artist with a BFA in Acting from the Tisch School of the Arts, NYU, where she studied at the Lee Strasberg Fim and Television Institute and Stonestreet Film Studio.  Amelia also holds a MA in Educational Theater from Steinhardt, NYU.  She is the founder of Elora Theater Arts, an educational theater company.

As an actor, Amelia works with Red Monkey Theater Group, where she has played Hunter in Neil Gaiman's

" NEVERWHERE" , Sylvia in "Two Gentlemen of Verona",Julia Stoner in "Sherlock Holmes: The Adventure of the Speckled Band", and Chick in "Crimes of the Heart".  Amelia also works with EMIT (Educational, Mobile, Immersive Theater), and roles include Lysander/Flute in "A Midsummer Night's Dream",Lady Capulet in "Romeo and Juliet", Gertrude in "Hamlet", and Sebastian in "The Tempest".  Other NY works include Beatrice in "Much Ado About Nothing", Angelise in "One Drop", Lucille in John Patrick Shanley's "Pyschopathia Sexualis", and Flannery in "Mrs. Schrodingers Cat" at the New York International Fringe Festival. 

As a teacher, Amelia has taught at New York Film Academy in their Tweens and Adult programs, as well as at the Bronx Charter School for the Arts.  Amelia is a Public Speaking Instructor at New York Botanical Garden's School of Professional Horticulture.  She designs and leads acting workshops through her own company, Elora Theater Arts, and lives in the Bronx with her husband and two children.

Leandra McNair

Vocal Instructor

Leandra McNair is an American Soul singer from Westbury, New York. Leandra’s music has been described as contemporary alternative soul with strong hip hop influences and a distinct jazz background. Leandra McNair’s voice has been described as unique and incredibly effortless. Leandra released her first EP titled ‘Allura Luna’ in 2013.

Leandra studied Voice at The Long Island High School for the Arts, and at the young age of fifteen , won Amateur Night at The Apollo.  She went on to study vocal performance at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. In 2015 Leandra had the honor of singing backup vocals for the legendary Debbie Sledge at the Standard Jazz club in Copenhagen. At the same time she performed her own show called The Late Night Soul Sessions with Ken Linh Doky.

 

 Later that year she was  invited back to perform her own show at "The Standard" for a Nat King Cole Tribute with the legends Alvin Queen and Neils Lan Doky. Leandra has been  performing in Copenhagen  at The Standard once again. 

 

Leandra has taught music and voice lessons in the private setting for the past six years.  She has a naturally positive attitude,  and encouraging demeanor,  that allows a positive response from her students.
        
 The way Leandra creates and interprets music is incredibly unique from other artists who are in the same genre. Leandra writes all her songs using the ukulele. Her biggest inspirations come from Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Jhene Aiko, Joey Badass, Swing out Sister and Lauryn Hill.

Leandra has just released her second EP 'LUCKY' which is available everywhere music is sold.
